Happy Sunday everyone!  Have you heard of the saying “Feel the fear but do it anyway”?  Well all I can say, is that I have been doing a whole lot of that this year!  It started at New Year and I have just kept facing fear after fear!

You might remember a couple of blog posts ago I told you about attending a Tony Robbins event and walking on fire.  Now I have gone one step further!  On Friday the 13th of October, I became a fire eater as well!  For the past couple of weeks my daughter and I have been attending a course called Australian Success Mastery.  The course is a total of 12 days, broken up into 2 phases.  Phase 1 is for 5 days and Phase 2 is for 7 days.  The first night of Phase 1, we were told we were going to get the opportunity to eat fire and to my amazement, I wasn’t really scared.   I had already walked on fire, so why couldn’t I eat it?!  We had to walk to a park area close by where the course was being held, and on the way over I decided that my biggest challenge that I was going to give to myself, was to volunteer to go first.  Years of being overweight didn’t give me a lot of self confidence and I have spent a lot of my life trying to be invisible.  Volunteering for anything is something that I have struggled to do in the past and volunteering to go first is absolutely massive for me.  I just kept telling myself the whole way that that is what I was going to do and I did.  I was the first of our group to eat fire, I did it on the first go, and I felt absolutely amazing!  My daughter also succeeded in eating fire, so now we are both fire walkers and fire eaters!

Now, one would think that would be enough fear facing.  Apparently not according to the universe.  We started out Phase 1 of the course by eating fire, and Phase 2 started out by breaking wood.  Just like you see martial arts people doing.  It is something I never thought I would have the opportunity to do or be able to do.  I was wrong on both counts!  In the beginning, it wasn’t easy.  I did struggle and had to have a few attempts.  I am very grateful that I had some amazing coaches who stuck with me the whole time, didn’t give up on me and didn’t let me give up on myself!  When my hand finally went through that wood, I felt so much happiness and pride and my self belief grew exponentially!  I was so blessed to then be able to watch my beautiful strong daughter enjoy the same experience.  My daughter breaking through that wooden board was even more amazing because only 12 months ago she had carpal tunnel surgery on both her wrists and was told that she wouldn’t get full strength back in them for at least 18 months.  I am such a proud mumma!

I have learned so much over the past 2 weeks and I am excited to be able to use the tools that I have learned to not only help myself, but to help others.  My eyes have been opened to a whole new world!  There is no going back and that is quite ok with me!  I have been literally bouncing off the walls and one of my clients asked me if I was on speed!  I laughed and told her I was just high on life!  So finally, the point of my blog today, is that the more times you face your fear head on, the easier it gets.  I keep facing fear after fear and it just gets easier and easier.  I am actually beginning to look forward to facing them even!  So get out there and try it.  You can do anything that you tell yourself you can and every time you face a fear you will feel even more amazing.

Lastly, I would like to say a massive thank you to Shane & Jess Fozard from Australian Success Academy and would highly recommend their courses if you are looking to make positive changes to your own life and those of others. Click here to find out more about what they offer.

Have a great week everyone!!
